2009-02-09 "National Search Service" planning to use ACM screens for search of the missing people
The National Search Service shall use the ACM screens for search of the missing people
The Lithuanian Television telecast “National Search Service”, Bureau of the Lithuanian Criminal Police and the PL JSC “Actual City Media” managing network of the ACM outdoor video screens shall implement their joint project on February 9. Purpose of such cooperation is to expand spectrum of alternative instruments of spreading information on the missing Lithuanian people as wide as possible.
From the beginning of the project photos of the missing people shall be shown on ACM outdoor video screens in largest cities and regions of the state, namely, in Vilnius, Klaipeda, Panevezys, Utena, Mazeikiai, Telsiai, Alytus and Kedainiai. According to the arrangement, information on missing people is going to be displayed 150 times a day. Minimum 60 minutes a week is to be designed for spread of such information.
Each video clip shall contain photo of a missing person and contacts to report purposeful information.
“Disappearance of a relative is a true problem of all family members and therefore appropriate actions must be taken at once. Many people encountering such problem for the first time do not know what to do. Yet, as we know, time does not work in our favour. That is why one should immediately contact the nearest police office as soon as a person disappears by giving all available information and a photo of the missing person. Many of such missing people, especially underage, have been found because of people reacting to our calls for search. We hope that people will not ignore pain of others”, says Igoris Ksendzovas, the Commissar and the Head of People Search Section of the Criminal Police under the Ministry of Interior.
“There is nothing worse and more frustrating than uncertainty in case of a missing relative. However, implementing and developing project of search of the missing people we primarily rely on the main principle that no one disappears unnoticed: someone notices him or her passing by, he or she accommodates somewhere and meets people. That is why it is really important for us to use all possible means to spread information on the missing people as wide as possible and to make photos of the missing people visible to almost all Lithuanians as well as to display the photos in the most noticeable places. Therefore, ACM video screen network, broadcasts of which can easily be changed, refreshed and supplemented by video information on the missing people, are really handy to us”, explains Zydrune Gedrimaite, the Producer of “National Search Service”.
In words of Kristina Baliunaite, the Directress of the PL JSC “Actual City Media”, project of such nature is first implemented using ACM outdoor video screens. Since overall traffic of pedestrians and public transport passengers near the video screens in the largest cities is, in average, 7.4 million people a week, project information displayed several times a day should attract attention of people and be memorized, which is especially necessary to recognize the missing people and contact people responsible for information gathering. Moreover, agents of “National Search Service” are going to use ACM “Live Ad” (direct broadcast management service), which shall enable them to refresh, supplement or change relevant information any time within a couple of minutes.
Meanwhile, the cooperation projects is planned to be implemented until May 5.
